1960’s Doxa Manual Winding Watch Long before they conquered the oceans, Doxa was perfecting the art of the Swiss dress watch. The case is typically slim with subtle, curved lugs, designed to disappear under a suit cuff. It embodies the “Bauhaus” philosophy—where form follows function—which Doxa later perfected in their famous “Grafic” series. Georges Ducommun started Doxa in Le Locle, Switzerland. He was so dedicated to quality that he famously walked miles in the snow to deliver watches to his clients. In 1967, Doxa pivoted to become a pioneer in diving, co-developing the SUB 300 with Jacques Cousteau.
