Pierre Balmain “Arabesques” Skeleton-Overlay Watch This Pierre Balmain “Arabesques” Skeleton-Overlay Watch (Ref. 1911) is an extraordinary piece of Swiss-made Parisian haute couture horology. Featuring Pierre Balmain’s signature arabesque motif integrated directly into the case overlay, it bridges the gap between high-fashion embroidery art and fine Swiss watchmaking. The standout feature is a polished stainless steel cut-out arabesque overlay spanning across the front glass. Founded in Paris by legendary designer Pierre Balmain in 1945, the house became world-renowned for its architectural “New French Style” gowns, celebrated for elaborate embroidery, lace, and swirling scrollwork. In 1987, the Swatch Group acquired the license to manufacture Pierre Balmain watches, officially buying full global watch rights in 1995. This allowed Balmain watches to be produced directly in St-Imier, Switzerland, combining genuine Swiss quartz precision with Parisian couture aesthetics Balmain watches are universally recognized for their Arabesque motif.
