Rare Movado Museum White Dial This Movado Museum White Dial Gold Dress Watch (Ref. 87-45-882) is a rare and striking iteration of one of the most famous watch dial designs in modern art history. Trading the signature black face for a crisp white aesthetic, it offers a fresh, high-contrast look. The Museum watch dial was designed in 1947 by American industrial designer Nathan George Horwitt, an advocate of the Bauhaus movement. Horwitt believed time should not be indicated by numbers, but rather by the rotation of the earth relative to the sun—hence the single dot at 12 o’clock. In 1960, Horwitt’s dial design became the first watch face ever selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, earning it the legendary moniker: “The Museum Watch.” Movado officially adopted and commercialized Horwitt’s design starting in the late 1960s. While most Museum watches feature a black dial, rare white-dial executions like this reference deliver an avant-garde, gallery-ready look. 🏷️Price: 14,500 #MovadoMuseum #MuseumWatch #BauhausDesign #MoMA #SoughtAfterSeconds
