This piece is an authentic vintage Schott NYC Model 184SM leather flight jacket, originally made in the United States during the 1980s. Schott introduced the 184SM as an evolution of military A-2 and G-1 specifications, engineered with bi-swing action backs, dual-entry pockets, and a detachable faux-fur collar. Crafted from heavy steerhide, it remains one of the brand’s most recognizable civilian-issue flight jackets. The presence of the pocket inspection paper ticket reading ‘184SM’ and size 38 alongside the stamped ‘SCHOTT USA’ zipper pull cleanly verifies its era. Vintage examples of the 184SM maintain steady collector and streetwear appeal due to their rugged, timeless Americana silhouette.
