SS16 DRIES VAN NOTEN PALM SEQUIN POLO From Spring 2016 collection beautifully showcases the house's signature juxtaposition of structured tailoring and opulent surface decoration. The collection centers around a flamboyant, kinky, and vivacious woman who unapologetically embraces texture and pattern clashing. Van Noten subverts traditional wardrobe staples by injecting a sense of surrealist luxury, crossing sharp, masculine silhouettes with a highly expressive and maximalist feminine energy. INDIAN ARTISANAL CRAFTSMANSHIP, the palm tree motifs and shimmering sequin detailing are brought to life through Van Noten's decades-long collaboration with an artisanal embroidery workshop in Kolkata, India. Rather than treating Indian craftsmanship as a hidden production pipeline, the brand celebrates the exceptional mastery of these Indian artisans.each sequin, bead, and thread is intricately hand-applied using specialized local techniques. This slow, deliberate process provides an immense depth and physical weight to the fabric, resulting in a three-dimensional finish that beautifully catches the light on the runway.
