The Baracuta G9 is essentially the original Harrington jacket—a classic British piece that dates back to 1937–1938, originally designed as a lightweight golf jacket in Manchester. What makes the G9 special * 🇬🇧 Made in the UK — the classic G9 is produced in Manchester. * Dog-ear collar with two buttons * Ribbed cuffs and waistband * Slanted flap pockets * Signature umbrella back yoke, designed to help shed rain and improve ventilation * Fraser tartan lining — one of its most recognizable details * Short, slightly boxy silhouette that works particularly well with denim, chinos, trousers and loafers/boots Why it’s historically important The G9 became associated with Mods, Ivy style, skinheads, punk and British rock culture, while celebrities such as Steve McQueen, Frank Sinatra and Eric Clapton helped make it an international style icon. The name “Harrington” became associated with the G9 after actor Ryan O’Neal wore one while playing Rodney Harrington in Peyton Place in the 1960s.
