A genuine military-issued WWII-era United States Navy N-4 Deck Jacket. The N-4 shares the same practical, military field-jacket lineage as the M-41 Field Jacket, featuring a short functional cut, front zipper closure, wind-resistant construction, and a utilitarian design intended for active service. Compared to heavier deck jackets of the period, the N-4 is generally considered a slightly lighter and more versatile layer, offering improved mobility and comfort, and was often favored for shore-based duties and less extreme cold-weather conditions. This example has lost its original tags, but retains several important period details consistent with an authentic WWII N-4, most notably the Talon bell-shaped zipper, a characteristic feature found on original wartime examples. The jacket also retains its original military construction and proportions, making it a great piece for collectors of WWII US military clothing or for everyday heritage wear.
